Conservation

Great Island is a 280-acre forested island centred at Latitude 44°7'48" North and Longitude 64°31'33" West, in Medway Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada.

In July 2010, Great Island became protected land through a conservation easement signed between its owners (the Hauer/Zimmerman family) and the Nova Scotia Nature Trust. The island will remain protected land in perpetuity, regardless of ownership.
